Chapter 1: This chapter opens in mabel house. Mabel frowns at the way his son dot the table cloth with his food. He rebukes him for doing that and ask him never to talk whenver his mouth is full of food. Mebel look at ogadi hair and see strands of cobweb on her hair. She inquires from ogadi where she slept. Ogadi tells her in the altic in order for her to prepare for the Common Wealth Examination. Ogadi promises her mother that she will fix things once she finishes her examination. Mabel remaid ogadi of the traffic along jos road and as such hurries her to get ready quickly. Ogadi rushes to the sink and washes her plate. She know her mother hates waiting for others or being waited for. She happily prepare for her graduation from medical school. Emeka Okoya, ogadi fiance, a graduate of accouuting who work witha bank, calls her to congratulate her. Ogadi walk to her bookshelf in seach of her clearance slip.
