Salaams everyone I thought of starting this forum to learn more about Islam from Hadith, given that majority of forum here might have been focused to refer to Quran mainly. Hope this be useful. Feel free to comment, or ask, but hope this be less debate-oriented. Thanks --- First What is a Hadith? Hadith in Arabic language has two meanings (1) Modern or new. (2) A talk. When in religious context, Hadith means: All talks/ sayings, or actions, or affirmations that were narrated and confirmed be by the Prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him). The scholars have developed many tools and even an entire science to verify the authenticity of narrated Hadiths (simply because anyone can claim anything that has been said, etc). These include science of Hadith terms, science of men, chains of narrators and it's loopholes, etc.. Hadiths have talked about all aspects of religion and life such as: faith, character, worship, biographies and history, miracles, tafser/ interpretation, |

Abu Musa Al- Ashari (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (MUHAMMAD s.a.w) said: Allah, the Exalted, will continue to stretch out His Hand in the night so that the sinners of the day may repent, and continue to stretch His Hand in the daytime so that the sinners of the night may repent, until the sun rises from the west. [Muslim]. Commentary: This Hadith confirms an essential Attribute of Allah, i.e., the Hand which He stretches out anytime He wishes without drawing similarity to it, nor interpretation. Such was the attitude of the pious predecessors with regards to all of the essential Attributes of Allah. It is deduced from this Hadith that if one commits a sin during any hour of day or night, he should immediately seek the forgiveness of Allah as a result. |

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) narrated: Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD s.a.w) said, He who repents before the sun rises from the west, Allah will forgive him. [Muslim]. Commentary: Taubah means returning to Allah from sins. When a person commits a sin, he goes away from Allah. When he repents, he returns to Allah and desires for being pardoned by Him, and getting near Him. This returning towards Him is Taubah. When it is said that Allah turns towards him', it means that Allah accepts his repentance. |

The companion of RASOOL(S.A.W) Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: I heard Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD s.a.w) saying, Whosoever visits an ailing person or a brother of his to seek the Pleasure of Allah, an announcer (that is, an angel) calls out: May you be happy, may your walking be blessed, and may you be awarded a dignified position in Jannah. [At-Tirmidhi]. Commentary: This Hadith highlights the merit of visiting the sick and Muslim to gain the Pleasure of Allah. |

Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: Messenger of Allah (MUHAMMAD s.a.w) said, When a Muslim or a believer washes his face (in the course of Wudu'), every sin he has committed with his eyes is washed away from his face along with water, or with the last drop of water; when he washes his hands, every sin they wrought is erased from his hands with the water, or with the last drop of water; and when he washes his feet, every sin towards which his feet walked is washed away with water, or with the last drop of water, with the result that he comes out cleansed of all sins. [Muslim]. Commentary: This Hadith mentions the excellence of Wudu'. Obviously a person who performs Wudu' five times daily would be free from sins. Thus, Wudu' is a means of both outward and inward cleanliness. |

Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Prophet (MUHAMMAD s.a.w) said,.. ![]() No one of you becomes a true believer until he likes for his brother what he likes for himself. [Al-Bukhari and Muslim]. Commentary: We learn from this Hadith about the importance and virtue of mutual love among the Muslims. If we act upon the injunctions mentioned in this Hadith, the Muslim societies will be immediately purged of the evils like exploitation, bribery, dishonesty, falsehood, cheating, forgery, etc., which are rampant in them at present. Islam has taught golden principles to its followers who have unfortunately neglected them and in consequence are leading a life of utter disgrace and moral turpitude. May Allah guide them to the Straight Path. ![]() |
