When the mango season arrived we would have an invasion of monkeys from surrounding forest.They would climb the trees silently;but as they ate the mangoes they would start chattering in their excitement,or die fighting and so give the game away.then,we would dash out set about them,banging pans and throwing stones,
the dogs joining in furiously,and the would scamper away swinging from tree to tree with their long arms and tails.
the monkeys were destructive to the crops,especially cassava.This,they would uproot and eat the tuber which is the main foodstuff in the plant.However,father was advised to plant what is called cutton tree cassava in the path of the invading animals.From then on, the monkey cause to eat the plants.
thiscotton tree cassavacontains a substantial amount of better which contain cyanide and with out special precautions, causes sleep and death.
