As I prepared to shut down my company laptop, an unexpected message popped up on the screen. My heart sank as I read the words, knowing that it wasn't good news. The message was from the lead office, and I had a feeling that it was related to my recent disagreements with Mr. Jacks. As a Christian, I had always tried to uphold my values and principles, even in the workplace but Mr. Jacks had been making things difficult for me, asking me to compromise my integrity and fudge numbers to generate more income. I had declined, despite his threats to demote or suspend me. Now, it seemed that those threats had become a reality. I felt a lump form in my throat as I made my way to Mr. Jacks' office to confirm the news. When I arrived, he delivered the blow: I was suspended, it was effective immediately. I left the office in a daze, feeling like my world had been turned upside down. How would I provide for my wife now? We had been trying to start a family for years, and the financial strain of my suspension would only make things harder. But as I pulled into my driveway, I was greeted by the sound of laughter and music. My wife was waiting for me at the door, a huge smile on her face. What's going on? I asked, feeling a sense of trepidation. I'm pregnant! she exclaimed, tears of joy streaming down her face. We have been waiting for God but it seemed as though the answers delayed. I was overwhelmed with emotion as I hugged my wife tightly but as we celebrated this new life, I couldn't shake the feeling of uncertainty about our future. That was when my wife dropped another bombshell. I have some more news, she said, her eyes sparkling with excitement. I've been working on a business idea, and it's taken off. I've already secured investors and partners. And I want you to be the CEO. I have tested you and of a surety, you are the best husband in the world. Your love for me is real. I was stunned. How could this be happening? Just hours before, I had been suspended from my job. Now, my wife was offering me a new opportunity, one that would allow us to build a secure future together. As I looked into my wife's eyes, I knew that this was more than just a coincidence. It was a blessing, a reminder that God is always working, even when we can't see it. |
