firstly, i want to introduce different file extensions for you guys' understanding.... jar: java archive- a compressed file containing all the class files and resources necessary for running a java application gif: graphics interchange format- a combination of images that creates an animation png: portable network graphics- usually comes without background, used for lossless image compression jpeg(jpg): joint photographic experts group- usually comes with background, used in logos, blogs and email wav: waveform audio file- standard for storing recorded audio on pc amr: adaptive multi rate- primarily used for storing recorded audio universally, it can be converted(adapted) to other audio formats wma: windows media audio- used for storing music on computers, because of its high sound maintenance mp3: MPEG-1 audio layer 3- it compresses music files by upto 95% of its original CD quality size  aac: advanced audio coding- standard for compressing audio digitally, it produces better quality! 3gpp(3gp): third generation partnership project- multimedia file format for mobile devices zip: zipped file- compresses multiple files into one file to reduce size rar: roshal archive- it compresses files too, but also supprots data compression error correction, and file spanning swf: small web format- it include audio and video or animation in a compressed format so that users can easily share them pdf: portable document file- standard for compressing or storing documents (either text or graphics) for view in devices txt: text file- contains information in text format for view in all devices m3g: mobile 3d graphics- it describes how to display a wavefront object model in a MIDP 2.0 application called model display.... thanks for reading them! |
